So Today's adventure we are going to be checking out the new Orlando Eye. The Orlando Eye opened up in April 2015. It is a 400 foot Ferris wheel that uses 30 air conditioned stabilized capsules to guide passengers high above international drive. We made our visit mid June 2015 with not knowing what we were to expect.
We arrived we are baffled by the total size of the Eye. With a glow coming from the eye it really takes its place in the city. it is flanked on both ends by some amazing place from shopping to restaurants (including Tin Roof) and a amazing grounds of fountains and area for families to enjoy their time.
As you enter into the Eye’s lobby you have our new wax museum (Madame Tussauds) and our new aquarium (Sea Life) and a amazing choice of food in their food court. You are welcomed by a big open area that welcomes locals and tourists the same.
We received our boarding passes for our adventure we headed through security and got some amazing pictures taken for our flight. We were then corralled into lines for their version on a 4D movie. After the movie ended we headed out to the boarding platform and away on our journey. it was nice for us since it was a quiet night it was just 3 of us in our capsule so it made it even more fun.
during our assent to the 400ft mark we are able to see such sites as Universal Orlando and the north half of the city of Orlando. such a amazing view. Once up at 400ft we had a great view for miles and miles in all 360 degrees. I will say it was a amazing view as we descended to the station we had a breathtaking view or Walt Disney World fireworks from EPCOT.
Overall i will have to say it's definitely a adventure you should not miss. its $25 per adult with multiple packages available including a package that includes the Orlando Eye, Madame Tussauds, Sea Life, and Legoland at a very fair price point. Our rating for the Orlando Eye is a 3 out of 5. It would have been better with a option to skip the pictures and movie and if in the capsules they had something for at night to show you exactly what you're seeing in the distance. but overall for the price and the experience it's definitely a must do in Orlando. www.officalorlandoeye.com
